MD Pen micro-needling therapy, also referred to as collagen induction therapy (CIT) and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device (“pen”) that houses a disposable cartridge containing fine needles.

Micro-Needling Technique

The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled wound. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. Through this process, there is visual improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pigmentation, pore size, and stretch marks.

Micro-needling downtime is minimal, however most patients are red for about 2-3 hours post treatment. Also, no makeup or sun protection is allowed immediately post treatment, so we recommend having the treatment on a day off or in the evening/after work.
